What Is P.I.E.?
Partners In Education

Your Parent Group

Congratulations!  You are now a member of Partners in Education (PIE), the parent group at the Welsh Hills school.  As the parent, grandparent or educator of a Welsh Hills school student, you are automatically a member and we encourage EVERYONE to become active, involved members of PIE. Studies have proven that family involvement in school can make a positive difference in school attendance, student behavior and academic achievement. Parents and supporters play a key role in how children learn and develop and, in turn, how effective the school can be.

According to our mission we are to “support,” “facilitate communication,” and “coordinate volunteerism.”

We “support” the school in many ways and one of the largest is through fundraising.  PIE has a significant line item on the school budget and we work the entire school year for our largest fundraiser, our Spring Auction. Many fun “friend-raisers” are thrown in along the way to keep everyone interacting.

We’ll “facilitate communication” by keeping you involved as to what is happening at the school and by giving you an outlet to share your thoughts, ideas and concerns.

We “coordinate volunteerism” by organizing events and asking you to be a chairperson or work on an event. For the third year now we have a Volunteer Coordinator, Laura Brown, and she will be a great contact for you!
